Job description
RNIB provides accessibility advice to partners all across the country but in order for us to be promoting a "gold standard" it is essential we are practicing what we preach. We therefore have an exciting opportunity for an accessibility expert to drive forward our approaches to accessibility both externally and internally, in turn positioning the RNIB as
a market leader in this field.
As a recognised authority on accessibility, usability and inclusion, you will lead, develop and maintain our external activities, promote accessibility as a tool for social change, and ensure all internal activities are in line. You will take a leading role in sector partnerships, including commissioning research and creating a professional accessibility community to benefit working practices. You will also work closely with colleagues across RNIB to ensure that internal practice and thinking relating to accessibility is in line with our external messages and RNIB becomes an exemplar in the field.
Key to this role will be your significant experience operating as the accessibility lead on a national scale and your significant knowledge of the broad accessibility needs and concerns of people affected by sight loss.
You will have the gravitas to be seen as a leader with a proven ability to motivate and empower others through clear leadership and direction. Equally important will be your excellent communication, problem solving and organisational skills.
