Join us at RNIB and take a lead in providing a range of support services to adults who have sight problems, learning disabilities and other complex needs. We're looking for caring individuals who want to make a real difference, whilst enjoying a work life that offers variety each day. You'll play a key role in enabling our customers to live as independently as possible and engage in activities that are so often taken for granted. You will support our customers located in Springfield day and assessment service and also in the community and their own homes with the Outreach service. It really is a career like no other! No working day is the same, but you could be helping customers to:* develop their skills, such as communication, mobility, social skills, independence, and health and wellbeing, daily living skills e.g. cooking and baking* take part in social, leisure, learning, and work-based opportunities. Including swimming, cycling, art, music, and rebound therapy.* develop their potential in line with their aspirationsYou just need to:* want to make a difference* be fun to be with* have patience and be calm under pressure as well as sociable, caring and supportive* work as part of a team to provide excellent person-centred support to our customers and their families* have good problem solving and communications skills* prioritise your workload effectivelyExperience of working in a social care or residential environment is desirable but not essential.We'll provide you with full training. After a thorough induction, you'll shadow an experienced Support Worker, enjoy ongoing training and we will help you achieve SVQ 3 required for your registration with SSSC.
