The Role
Our friendly and dedicated Community Connection team in Scotland is looking for a new Coordinator to join us on a permanent, full time basis.
RNIB’s Community Connection team supports over 20,000 people a year across the UK. We work with blind and partially sighted people, and those affected by sight loss, to reduce isolation and ensure people are able to access support and services they need.
Your role would involve building a team of volunteers to work with you to facilitate groups, provide support and raise awareness of sight loss, both to those recently diagnosed with a sight loss condition as well as to the wider public. You would be attending information stands at events and managing volunteer public speakers, amongst other activities.
You would be making wellbeing calls to those who have recently been diagnosed with sight loss, signposting them to local services and specialist support as appropriate.
Who We’re Looking For
This is a diverse, rewarding job and will suit someone who enjoys a varied role and who wants to make a difference. You would be sharing support, ideas and information with the team across the UK to not only support the public, but to also get involved in opportunities that will shape the service for the future.
To be successful in this very rewarding role you will be an effective communicator and have proven experience in customer engagement face to face, by phone and online. You will enjoy meeting new people and also possess the ability to recruit, manage and develop volunteers or similar.
