RNIB Scotland is the country’s leading sight loss charity. We campaign with blind and partially sighted people to tackle the barriers people with sight loss face, and work in partnership with local authorities as well as public, private and third sector bodies across Scotland to deliver projects and services.
The Campaigns Officer will lead RNIB's campaign activity across Scotland, delivering local campaigns and working with blind and partially sighted people to achieve change in their local area.
You will identify and pursue opportunities to further RNIB Scotland's national and local campaigning activity in collaboration with colleagues and a range of stakeholders, working through a co-production/co-design approach with blind and partially sighted people.
You will work to support the development of working relationships with organisations across the sector and with key decision makers to best deliver RNIB Scotland's core campaign activities.
You will organise campaigning events and grow the number of campaign supporters in Scotland, including helping facilitate and increase the membership of RNIB Scotland's youth campaign forum, Haggeye.
This position requires experience of both UK and Scotland-wide campaigning work using the principles and tools of effective lobbying to bring about social change; knowledge and understanding of the key issues of concern to blind and partially sighted people, and knowledge and understanding of the political process and the key aspects of public policy relevant to blind and partially sighted people.
