The Haggeye Coordinator will be part of Policy and External Affairs team here at RNIB. You will develop strong links with the Community Connections and Children, Young People and Families teams within RNIB Scotland.
What you will be doing –
You will provide strategic leadership, facilitate and support Haggeye, a campaign group for blind and partially sighted young people, aged 16-27, living in Scotland.
This will involve increasing Haggeye membership; networking with existing groups to develop working links and providing support to members
Develop and deliver a range of events for young people and deliver a range of training to members in response to identified needs.
Coordinate Haggeye involvement in the Scottish Youth Parliament including supporting existing Members of Scottish Youth Parliament (MSYP) and future candidates through the SYP election process.
Who we are looking for –
You will have experience of working with young people and facilitating in person and online engagement.
Knowledge of provision and support for young people with VI and their families.
Knowledge of the relevant legislative and policy frameworks in Scotland and across the UK.
This position can be worked flexibly across Scotland and can be Home - Based.
