We’re the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) and we’re here for everyone affected by sight loss. Working for us means working for one of the UK’s biggest charities, supporting almost two million people living with sight loss in the UK.
RNIB is leading the creation of a world where there are no barriers for people with sight loss. One of our key priorities is to ask people to see sight loss differently, reversing inaccurate perceptions and changing public behaviours so everyone expects equal participation from people with sight loss and the creation of a fully accessible society.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Engagement Manager to join the RNIB Scotland team, this opportunity is also open to those who are looking for a secondment.
The postholder will play a pivotal role in the delivery of RNIB’s strategic priority to “innovate a sight loss pathway to equip blind and partially sighted people to participate equally.” As such they will work to embed a single sight loss pathway for practical and emotional support, to enable people experiencing sight loss to move quickly from diagnosis to confidence, and expect equal participation in society.
The postholder will manage and support RNIB’s engagement across the health and social care sector in Scotland, creating and managing partnerships at scale between RNIB Scotland and sector partners and working collaboratively with colleagues.
We’re looking for someone who has a strong understanding of public policy relating to the health and social care structures within Scotland, and be able to translate such knowledge to identify current or potential mainstream systems of support that could meet the needs of blind and partially sighted people.
The successful candidate will be experienced in developing and managing effective partnerships and will also have a strong track record in working with high-level contacts in a health and social care setting to deliver results.
We are looking for a self-starting team member who is driven and experienced.
In exchange we offer a competitive salary, a stimulating and supportive working environment and a benefits package including:
- 26 days holiday per year (plus bank holidays), which increase with service.
- Excellent pension schemes
